Learn Drone Hardware, Electronics, Avionics, Flight Simulation, Safety & DGCA Regulatory Fundamentals - For Hobbyist to Drone Professional.
1. The Core Philosophy (Key Points to Understand)
- The Format: This is a 3-weekend (6-day) foundational course on Drone Systems Integration and Flight Operations. It runs on Saturdays and Sundays.
- The Setup: We are teaching professional drone fundamentals using a highly accessible approach. We do not require heavy, expensive laboratory equipment. We use basic hand tools, digital multimeters, and student laptops.
- Zero-Risk Training: We teach flight planning, piloting, and emergency handling using Software-In-The-Loop (SITL) simulators. Students fly virtual drones on their laptops to build confidence safely before shifting to on-ground flying.
- The Goal (The Stepping Stone): We are taking students from a basic/hobbyist level and giving them the professional hardware and flight operations foundation they need.
2. What We Are Actually Teaching (The Syllabus Breakdown)
- Weekend 1: The Airframe & Power Systems Basics
- Drone Anatomy: We teach why commercial drones use carbon fibre, how it breaks, and how to inspect frames for hidden damage using simple acoustic tapping and light tests.
- Battery Safety: We cover the basics of lithium drone batteries, why they catch fire, and the physics of how they lose voltage under heavy load.
- Practical: Students learn safe, clean soldering techniques and how to properly assemble frames using chemical thread lockers.
- Weekend 2: Propulsion & The "Brain"
- Motors & ESCs: How brushless drone motors work, why they fail from heat or wear, and how Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs) translate battery power into thrust.
- Avionics & Wiring: How the flight controller (the brain) connects to sensors. We teach them how to wire everything safely and cleanly.
- Practical: The "Smoke Test" protocol. Students learn how to rigorously test their wiring with a basic digital multimetres to guarantee there are no short circuits before ever plugging in a battery.
- Weekend 3: Aviation Law & Virtual Flying
- DGCA Regulations: We break down the basics of Indian drone laws, airspace zoning (Red/Yellow/Green), and the DigitalSky framework so they know how to fly legally.
- Flight Dynamics: We explain the basics of how software balances the drone in the air and how to handle standard mid-air emergencies.
- Practical: Students install Ground Control Station software on their laptops and use the SITL simulator. They practice arming the virtual drone, drawing automated flight paths, and triggering emergency "Return to Home" failsafe. We also have a short flying session on the field.
